OSWEGO, N.Y. (AP) — A man has been taken into custody after a student told authorities he held her at knifepoint in her dorm room at an upstate New York college.
Officials at the State University of New York at Oswego say the unidentified student was held in her room for about four hours on Wednesday.
They say she was able to escape around 3:15 p.m. The assailant fled on foot.
Campus police say a suspect was apprehended shortly before 10 p.m. They say charges against him are pending.
The college of about 8,000 students is located about 50 miles from Syracuse.
