NELLIS AIR FORCE BASE, Nev. (AP) — Las Vegas police have arrested the person who reported a bomb in a vehicle at the main gate of the Nellis Air Force Base.

Authorities said just before 3 p.m. Wednesday that the Nellis bomb squad determined the threat was unfounded and that no threat exists.

The person who came to the main gate about three hours earlier said there was a bomb in his or her vehicle.

The threat prompted the police response, road closures in the area north of downtown Las Vegas and warnings to the public to stay away from the scene.

The Las Vegas police department said it was aiding Nellis on a report of a suspicious vehicle.
