ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) -- Customers of Dixie Escalante Electric have raised $90,000 for charitable organizations in southern Utah.
Dixie Escalante customers can round up their monthly utility bill to the next whole dollar and donate the change to the Dixie Escalante Foundation, a separate nonprofit organization.
In eight years, the program has collected $90,000 and donated $75,000 to local organizations.
The foundation says it is currently waiting on requests for the remaining $15,000.
About 15 percent of Dixie Escalante's customers are participating in the program.
