SAINT BONAVENTURE, N.Y. (AP) — Jaylen Adams scored a career-high 28 points with a career-high seven 3-pointers and St. Bonaventure beat Vermont 80-68 on Tuesday night to win five of its last six games.

Dion Wright scored 16 points, Denzel Gregg added 10, and Marcus Posely had eight points with a career-high-tying six assists. The Bonnies (6-2) shot 55 percent from beyond the 3-point arc and 52 percent from the field in the first-ever meeting between the teams.

Up 43-37 at halftime, Adams and Nelson Kaputo each made 3s for a 51-45 St. Bonaventure lead, and the Bonnies pulled away 73-56 after Wright made back-to-back layups with 7:02 left.

Kurt Steidl led Vermont (4-6) with 19 points, Trae Bell-Haynes added 13, while Darrren Payen and Dre Wills scored 10 points apiece. Drew Urquhart grabbed 12 rebounds.

Posely and Adams both hit 3-pointers and St. Bonaventure led 13-5, and then pulled ahead 39-27 after Adams hit back-to-back 3s and Posely added another.
