ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) — The Detroit Lions have reached a deal to have Ernie Accorsi assist with their search for a general manager.
The team announced Wednesday the former New York Giants, Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Colts GM will work with its advisory committee. Accorsi serves on the NFL Advisory Board and has worked as a consultant for the Chicago Bears and Carolina Panthers in recent years.
Rod Wood was hired last week as Lions president. Detroit fired GM Martin Mayhew and team president Tom Lewand earlier this month. Wood has said he expects interim GM Sheldon White to be a candidate to keep his job beyond this season.
