BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A south-central Idaho woman who stole more than $7,000 from the U.S. Post Office in Hansen has been sentenced to three years of probation.
The Times-News reports (http://bit.ly/1jdBJ6Z) that 26-year-old Mandi Burns of Jerome was sentenced Friday in U.S. District Court.
She pleaded guilty to the theft on Aug. 13. She also received 100 hours of community service.
Authorities say Burns worked as postmaster relief between July 2013 and November 2014 and took cash from customers' money orders, failed to report stamp sales, and didn't report money received for post office box rentals.
