Colorado State beats Loyola Marymount 83-75

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) — Gian Clavell tied his career high with 21 points, helping Colorado State to its 35th straight home-opening win, 83-75, over Loyola Marymount on Thursday night.

Emmanuel Omogbo added 19 points for the Rams (2-0), Antwan Scott added 17 and Joe De Ciman scored 15 with seven rebounds.

Brandon Brown scored a career-high 24 points — shooting 4-for-5 from 3-point range — to lead Loyola Marymount (1-2) and Marin Mornar added 11 points.

The game was close throughout with the Lions holding a 37-34 halftime lead and they stayed in front until Clavell converted a 3-point play with 14:17 remaining to put Colorado State ahead for keeps 46-43. This was part of a two-minute burst where Clavell scored eight points.

Colorado State made six fewer field goals but went 32-of-42 at the foul line as Loyola Marymount was whistled for 30 fouls.
