WASHINGTON (AP) — Under Armour founder Kevin Plank is giving $16 million to his high school alma mater.
The school, St. John's College High School in the District of Columbia, announced the pledge Saturday.
St. John's says the gift is the largest in its history and one of the largest ever to a Catholic school.
The school says Plank's grant will support a capital improvement plan including state-of-the-art athletic facilities, establishment of an Entrepreneurial Center for Innovation and Leadership and tuition assistance for needy students.
Plank, a 1990 graduate of St. John's, last year pledged $25 million to his collegiate alma mater, the University of Maryland.
Plank founded Baltimore-based Under Armour in 1996 and the apparel company is now worth more than $20 billion.
