NORWICH, England (AP) — Norwich beat Swansea 1-0 Saturday to end its six-game winless run as Jonny Howson headed in midway through the second half to secure the three points that kept the Canaries clear of the Premier League's bottom three.

Robbie Brady won a corner when his edge-of-the-area shot was saved by Swansea goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski, and from the resulting corner he crossed to substitute Dieumerci Mbokani, who left the goalkeeper out of position by heading into Howson's path. The midfielder nodded in with ease from the closest of range in the 70th minute.

Norwich retained the lead at Carrow Road with its deep-lying defense and midfield limiting Swansea's chances.

Swansea, with just one win since August, has one more point than Norwich — 13 to 12 — after 12 games.
