BESSEMER, Ala. (AP) — Authorities say a truck driver has died in a crash with an Amtrak train in Alabama and that no one aboard the train was hurt.

Bessemer Police Deputy Chief Mike Roper told local media outlets that a dump truck was hit by the train Friday afternoon and the truck driver has been pronounced dead.

Amtrak spokeswoman Kimberly Woods tells WBRC-TV there were no injuries aboard the train in the crash southwest of Birmingham. Woods says the train was traveling between New Orleans and New York.

Amy Duplessis of Prairieville, Louisiana told WAFB-TV in Baton Rouge that the train's passengers included LSU fans traveling to Alabama for a football game Saturday.

Further details about the crash weren't immediately available and the truck driver's identity wasn't released.
