Rapides Parish School Board renews superintendent's contract

ALEXANDRIA, La. (AP) — The Rapides Parish School Board has voted to renew Superintendent Nason Authement's contract for four more years.

KALB-TV (http://bit.ly/1Pnm95c ) reports the board voted 8-1 in favor of the move during a meeting Tuesday night.

The contract has the same terms as his current one, with no planned salary raise.

Authement has 15 days to accept or reject the offer.

There were seven months left before the contract was actually due to be renewed.
