INDIANA, Pa. (AP) — A western Pennsylvania man will spend two to five years in prison for shooting a western Pennsylvania university student in a road-rage dispute.
Thirty-year-old Eagan Minich must also pay more than $18,000 in restitution, fines and court costs for the Jan. 30, 2014 shooting of Indiana University of Pennsylvania student Hayden Warmke.
Minich pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in August.
Indiana County prosecutors say Minich became enraged after a woman in a sport utility vehicle in front of him got out at a red light to secure a rear hatch. Minich pursued the SUV to a parking lot near the campus, where he punched and then shot Warmke in the thigh as he was let out of the vehicle. Warmke was 20 at the time.
