WEST VALLEY CITY — A missing 13-year-old girl has been found safe in South Salt Lake.
Mckenzie Price left her home near 3650 South and 1950 West to walk to a friend's house around 5:30 p.m. Monday, according to West Valley police. When she didn't return home a few hours later, her mother discovered Mckenzie never made it to the friend's home.
The mother called police, who launched a search for the girl. Police tweeted at 8:26 a.m. that she was found safe and detectives were talking to her. They also said media reports helped passers-by spot the girl.
Police said the disappearance was out of character for her.
It was not immediately clear where Mckenzie had been overnight.
