Payson police are watching their backs after arresting a man who knew a little too much about an officer and his family.
Payson police Lt. Bill Wright says on Saturday they responded to a domestic dispute call near 300 East and 900 South. A woman told them that her husband, Leonardo Licea-Alfaro, was trying to harm her.
The Provo Daily Herald reports an officer shot Licea-Alfaro with a Taser as he tried to chase his wife into her home, but that didn't stop him. Licea-Alfaro pulled the wires out and continued toward the house. It took two people to restrain him.
During the scuffle, the suspect told an officer he was going to use an AK-47 to kill him, his wife and his children. Wright said, "The individual, apparently, had some personal knowledge of where our officer lives, his family members, what his house looked like." The suspect even described the officer's dogs.
The threat was so specific, police booked him in jail for making terroristic threats, along with a list of other charges. He's also being held on an immigration hold.
