SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A man already convicted of trying to kidnap a nine-year-old Provo girl has now pleaded no contest in two other attempted kidnapping cases.
Twenty-seven-year-old Jimmy Guard has pleaded no contest to two third-degree counts of attempted kidnapping for trying to abduct two Springville girls.
Authorities say Guard was seen talking to the girls, ages seven and 12, in their backyard. Police later found a hatchet, video camera, condoms and a prescription medication that causes drowsiness in Guard's car.
He's set to be sentenced August 30th in that case.
Back in May, Guard was convicted of first-degree kidnapping in the Provo case. He's set to be sentenced in that case on August second. He faces up to life in prison.
