LAS VEGAS (AP) — The attempt to rein in a rowdy atmosphere on Fremont Street in Las Vegas will sequester street performers in six-foot zones starting November 16.
Las Vegas city officials laid out the process Thursday for performers to register online for one of 38 available spots and, if they're characters posing for photos, describe what costume they'll be wearing. Securing a spot will require signing up for a lottery the day before and being chosen at random.
Street performers are restricted to the zones from 3 p.m. to 1 a.m. on the popular tourist corridor.
Performers still have numerous questions about the plan first announced in July including how it would be enforced and what would prevent performers from signing up for multiple accounts to increase their odds of securing a spot.
