CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — Wyoming's only statewide newspaper has a new leader.

Lee Enterprises announced the promotion of Casper Star-Tribune Operations Director Thomas Biermann to publisher.

Biermann began his career at the Star-Tribune in 2007 as circulation director. He also has served as the Star-Tribune's sales and marketing director.

Biermann says it's humbling to have the honor and responsibility of leading the newspaper and connecting people on a local level through the newspaper's digital and print products.

Lee Enterprises Vice President Nathan Bekke (BECK'-ee) calls Biermann an accomplished leader with vast experience and a deep connection to the Casper community.

Biermann is a former general manager of the European and Middle East editions of the U.S. military newspaper Stars and Stripes.

He succeeds Jason Adrians, who left the Star-Tribune earlier this year.
