(KSL News) Fireworks sparked a 50-acre grass fire in Magna.
It started late last night on Kennecott property near 8400 West and Highway 201.
Wind fueled the fire, making it difficult for crews to fight it before it was finally contained.
Damage is estimated at $250,000.
The fireworks were part of a Fourth of July show, so Kennecott could potentially hold the fireworks company responsible for the damage. The company could have to pay for repairs to a pump house and power lines that were damaged by the blaze.
