SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The Standard-Examiner in Ogden has named a new publisher.

The newspaper reported Thursday (http://bit.ly/1Vrbbkq) that Brandon Erlacher has been chosen as its publisher and vice president of Ogden Publishing Co.

Erlacher comes to the paper from The Elkhart Truth in his hometown of Elkhart, Indiana, where he had served as publisher since 2008.

Under his leadership, The Truth launched digital projects like Flavor 574, an award-winning online food magazine.

Erlacher was a youth carrier for The Truth in the 1980s, and returned to the paper as an adult, after serving in the U.S. Navy and earning a degree from the University of Notre Dame.

Erlacher replaces Charles Horton III, who left in September to join his wife in Washington as she pursues her doctorate in nursing.

Erlacher starts on Oct. 12.
