SANDY — Plans are already in the works to ensure those attending the upcoming premiere of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" are kept safe.
Though fall is a slow time for Hollywood blockbusters, for those running Megaplex Theaters, it's a time for planning an event only three months away.
"This will go down as one of the biggest movies of all time," said Blake Anderson, president of Megaplex Theaters.
Anderson is already counting down the days to "Star Wars: Episode VII," and so is the marquee at the Jordan Commons location in Sandy. Tickets will go on sale soon, but no definite date has been set for their release.
We haven't got a firm date from Disney. But I'll give you a little insider here: We think it's going to be within the next few weeks.

"We haven't got a firm date from Disney," Anderson said. "But I'll give you a little insider here: We think it's going to be within the next few weeks."
Star Wars fans attending the recently wrapped Salt Lake Comic Con were eager to have those tickets in hand.
"I don't know if excited is really a word that can be used in relation to the emotion within my heart about the new movie that's coming out," said Dan Pia of Orem.
"I will be there for sure," agreed Aaron Mead. "No matter what, I'll be there."
Unfortunately, movie theater security is something that has become a national concern. Anderson knows that, and with an event as major as the Star Wars release, he wants everyone attending to be safe.
"We take that very seriously at Megaplex Theaters," he said. "And all of our Megaplex Theaters already have security on, so we will continue to do that. We'll beef up where needed."
Fans will be allowed to wear costumes to the movie, but backpacks and weapons will be prohibited at Megaplex locations.
