HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) — Authorities have identified a 21-year-old Henderson man who died of injuries received when he crashed a stolen scooter last week in a road construction area.
The Clark County coroner said Friday that Kyhman Brooks died Monday at Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center of head injuries. His death was ruled an accident.
Henderson city spokeswoman Michelle French says the crash happened about 9 p.m. Sept. 18.
Police say the scooter clipped a construction barrel while passing a car making a right turn, then hit a directional sign and swerved into oncoming traffic on Green Valley Parkway near Warm Springs Road.
French says Brooks was struck by a 2008 Infiniti sedan.
Brooks wasn't wearing a helmet, and French says police determined the scooter had been stolen earlier in Las Vegas.
