BRUSSELS (AP) — At a contentious meeting in Brussels, European Union ministers have agreed to relocate 120,000 refugees among the bloc to ease the strains on overwhelmed front-line nations like Greece and Italy. The Czech Republic's interior minister says four of the 28 member nations voted against the plan — the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania and Hungary — and Finland abstained.
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia has criticized judges who believe the Constitution is a "living" document. Speaking at Tennessee's Rhodes College, Scalia said such judges amount to policy makers who are making moral decisions for the entire country about same-sex marriage and other issues. He referred to this summer's ruling by the high court as "extreme."
WASHINGTON (AP) — A federal judge has ordered the State Department to speed up its review of emails from two key aides to former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton. Federal judge Emmet Sullivan has given the department until Oct. 2 to complete a keyword search of thousands of work-related messages sent or received from private email accounts by aides Huma Abedin (HOO'-muh AB'-uh-deen) and Cheryl Mills. A line-by-line review of the emails will then be conducted to see if they contain confidential information.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Philadelphia attorney Edwin Jacobs says Bill Cosby's agents contacted him in the last few days about as prosecutors near Philadelphia revisit a 2005 sexual-assault complaint. Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Ferman won't confirm her office is reinvestigating a complaint by an ex-Temple University employee.
