ROCKFORD, Ill. (AP) — Teachers at a Rockford community college have voted to accept a new contract, ending a four-day strike.
Students were heading back to class Tuesday at Rock Valley College.
The Rockford Register Star reports (bit.ly/1iulfqQ ) that details of the five-year faculty contract will be made public after trustees vote Tuesday night to finalize the deal.
Sticking points included a proposal for union members to pay more for their health insurance.
Faculty Association President Mike Youngblood says the 160 union members did not get everything they wanted but were eager to return to the classroom.
