Jul. 17--James Osborne of Arrowhead Aviation Inc. has donated assembled and unassembled parts of a World War I Fokker D.VII airplane to the Warhawk Air Museum.

This rare airplane was considered the best all-around German fighter of World War I, Warhawk representatives said. When the war ended, the airplane was so highly esteemed by the Allies that their armistice terms specifically ordered the surrender of all Fokker D.VIIs.

The donated airplane eventually will be assembled and displayed at Warhawk with one side covered and one side uncovered, showing the intricate framework.

Museum co-founders Sue and John Paul said donors are vital to the growth of the museum displays, exhibits and education programs, and they are honored to receive this rare collection.
