BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) — Western Kentucky coach Jeff Brohm says running back Leon Allen will miss the rest of the season after injuring his left knee injury Thursday night in a victory over Louisiana Tech.

Brohm's statement Friday night did not specify Allen's injury or his treatment, but said the senior "will have the full complement of resources and total support of our medical team and coaching staff as he goes through the rehabilitation process."

Allen, who rushed for 1,542 yards and 13 touchdowns last season, was injured on an incomplete pass play in the third quarter of the Hilltoppers' 31-28 victory. His left knee was bent backward at an awkward angle as he went down from a tackle. Before that he had rushed for 81 yards and a 28-yard touchdown on 12 carries.
