RENO, Nev. (AP) — Officials at the University of Nevada, Reno say they're hauling in extra water and expanding the number of cooling tents at Mackay Stadium for Saturday's football game against No. 22 Arizona when temperatures are forecast to push into the mid-90s.
The National Weather Service predicts Saturday's high of 96 should hit right around the kickoff set for 4 p.m.
School officials announced Friday they're waiving the normal limit of one sealed bottle of water and will allow fans to bring in empty refillable bottles. They say additional medical personnel will be on hand at two large cooling tents equipped with water, chairs and electric fans.
Officials for Hometown Health also have set up a booth where sunscreen and neck-cooling towels will be given away as long as supplies last.
