LAS VEGAS (AP) — Japanese wrestler Kaori Icho won her 10th world championship Wednesday night to joini teammate Saori Yoshida as the only women with double-digit titles.
Icho beat Finland's Petra Olli 10-0 in the 58-kilogram (128-pound) final for her 158th consecutive win in major international competition.
American Helen Maroulis won her first world title at 55 kilograms (121 pounds). Teammate Adeline Gray won for the third time in four years, routing Qian Zhou of China 13-2 at 75 kilos (158.5 pounds).
Mongolia's Battsetseg Soronzonbold pinned Japan's Risako Kawai in 36 seconds in the women's 63- kilogram (139-pound) final.
Italy's Frank Chamizo Marquez beat Uzbekistan's Ikhtiyor Navruzov to win the men's 65-kilogram (143- pound) title.
