NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Knicks signed forward Darion Atkins and guard/forward Wesley Saunders on Thursday. Terms of the deals with the undrafted free agents weren't disclosed.
The 6-foot-8 Atkins averaged 7.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 23.9 minutes as a senior at the University of Virginia. He led the Portsmouth Invitational in scoring at 20.0 points, and averaged 2.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 12.7 minutes in nine Summer League games for San Antonio.
The 6-foot-5 Saunders averaged 16.6 points, 6.1 rebounds and 4.3 assists as a senior at Harvard. He appeared in six Summer League games for Utah, averaging 2.8 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 15.3 minutes.
