EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (AP) — The Los Angeles Lakers have signed Brazilian point guard Marcelo Huertas.

The Lakers announced the deal Wednesday.

The 32-year-old Huertas has spent nearly his entire professional career in Spain. He played the past four seasons with FC Barcelona in the top Spanish league, winning two national championships.

Nicknamed "Marcelinho," Huertas also played one season in Italy, and began his career with three seasons in Brazil. He played for Brazil at the 2012 Olympics in London, leading his team in assists, and in three FIBA World Championship tournaments.
