Her office says the trip included officials business, but she also attended the celebrity-packed White House Correspondents' Association dinner on Saturday, April 25. Love returned to Utah the next day.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A Utah woman who posed as a lawyer and even negotiated a plea deal for a client is headed to jail for 62 days. Prosecutors say 30-year-old Karla Carbo used the name of a real lawyer to represent five clients in criminal and divorce cases. Her attorney says she acknowledges responsibility and wants to move on with her life.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Federal agents have secured a search warrant for an SUV that was involved in a fatal April crash on the Uintah-Ouray Indian Reservation. The Deseret News reports investigators are hoping to recover data from the vehicle's internal computer system. The 18-year-old driver was trying to evade police when the SUV crashed, killing one passenger and injuring five others.
WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (AP) — Authorities say a 3-year-old girl was killed in a West Valley City collision that also left a toddler critically injured. A West Valley police spokeswoman says Paisley Hayden, was ejected from an SUV yesterday after the vehicle was struck while making a turn. Police say eight children from several families were in the SUV and no one was wearing a seat belt.
