EVERETT, Wash. (AP) — The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office says they have arrested a teen suspected of shooting a brother and sister near an elementary school in south Everett on Thursday night.
Spokeswoman Shari Ireton says a 14-year-old girl and a 17-year-old man have been taken to Harborview Medical Center, where the 17-year-old is in serious condition and his 14-year-old sister is in satisfactory condition.
After a four-hour standoff with police, a 17-year-old man was taken into custody early Friday and evaluated for minor injuries.
She says the shooting reported around 6:30 p.m. did not take place at the school, nor did it involved students or staff from the school.
