INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The Indiana Fever have signed point guard Briann January to a contract extension.

Terms of the deal were not announced by the team Monday.

January was Indiana's first-round draft pick in 2009 and has spent all seven seasons with the Fever. She's been part of six playoff teams, the 2012 WNBA title team and is averaging 8.0 points and 3.4 assists this season for a team in position to again make the playoffs.

The Arizona State alum is second in franchise history in career assists (673), was an All-Star last season and has been selected to the league's last three all-defensive teams.
