MADISON, Wis. (AP) — American Family Insurance is doubling its spending on advertising and donations at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
Alongside university officials, the insurance company announced Thursday that it is pledging $4 million annually over the next 10 years.
The Wisconsin State Journal reports (http://bit.ly/1hj2eah ) that most of the money — about $25 million — will go toward sponsorships and Badger athletics. American Family will increase its presence at venues such as Camp Randall Stadium.
The other $15 million will go toward academics.
University chancellor Rebecca Blank says 10-year agreement will help further university research, as well as boost academic and athletic programs.
American Family chief executive Jack Salzwedel says the company is giving its partnership with the university more muscle.
