TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — The University of Arizona has started classes with more than 42,000 students included a record number of freshmen.
School officials say more than 8,100 freshmen were enrolled as classes began Monday.
That's the largest freshmen class ever for the Tucson university and up from about 8,000 enrolled at about the same time last fall.
The UofA also has more than 2,100 transfer students enrolled this semester.
Official enrollment figures are not released until the 21st day of class.
