FREDERICKSBURG, Va. (AP) — The University of Mary Washington is welcoming nearly 1,400 freshmen and transfer students to campus.
The school says students began arriving on Thursday. Classes for the fall semester begin on Monday.
The students include about 1,000 freshmen, representing the largest first-year class in the University's 107-year history. About 13 percent of the class is from out of state.
Overall, the incoming new students represent 30 states, the District of Columbia and nine foreign countries. The freshman class is 35 percent male and 65 percent female.
