PROVO — BYU announced the 2015-16 men's basketball schedule Tuesday afternoon, in conjunction with the West Coast Conference's announcement of the league schedule in the morning.
The Cougars open the season with a pair of exhibition games against Arizona Christian and Alaska-Fairbanks on Oct. 30 and Nov. 7, followed by the regular-season opener against Utah Valley on Nov. 13.
The University Parkway series between BYU and the Wolverines will be the first meeting between the two schools since 2003, and pits former BYU assistant coach Mark Pope against his former team.
In all, BYU will play Adams State, Mississippi Valley State, Belmont, Utah State and Central Michigan in the Marriott Center during non-conference play.
The Cougars' road slate begins at Long Beach State on Nov. 16 as part of ESPN's 24-hour college basketball marathon event. Additional road games include Utah and Colorado, as well as neutral-site games against Weber State, Harvard and either New Mexico or Auburn as part of the Diamond Head Classic in Hawaii.
BYU will open West Coast Conference play on the road at St. Mary's on Dec. 31 and at Pacific on Jan. 2. The Cougars' originally scheduled WCC opener against travel partner San Diego is currently to be determined, as a result of the Diamond Head Classic.
BYU plays at perennial WCC power Gonzaga on Jan. 14, with the home date against the Zags scheduled for Feb. 27 in the regular-season finale for both teams.
The only back-to-back home slate is a two-week period between Jan. 28 and Feb. 6, when BYU will host Loyola Marymount, Pepperdine, St. Mary's and Pacific at the Marriott Center.
