SALT LAKE CITY — The University of Utah released a new throwback uniform that will be worn this year.

The uniform, which features aspects dating from the 1960s through the 1990s, will debut on Saturday, Oct. 10 against California — Utah's Homecoming game.

The design, according to the University of Utah, includes:

  • Interlocking UU logo on the helmet from the 1960s
  • Font for the numbers from the 1970s
  • Stripes on the jerseys from the 1970s-1990s

The jerseys were created by Under Armour and are expected to be able to purchase at retail stores starting Aug. 20, according to the university.

As you would expect, the football players were pretty happy about the uniform, particularly Jared Norris.
