SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- St. Mark's Hospital had donated $300,000 to the new Meldrum Science Center at Westminster College.

The money will fund the St. Mark's Hospital Anatomy and Physiology Lab in the center's nursing suite. The new $25 million center is under construction and is scheduled to open in spring 2010.

Plans for the 60,000 square foot building include 14 open, flexible classrooms and laboratories along with five dedicated undergraduate research labs.

St. Mark's CEO Steven B. Bateman says the hospital is impressed with the quality education and innovative learning programs Westminster provides.
