SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The family of a Salt Lake City man who died at Lake Powell says in a new lawsuit that he was killed by electrically charged water near a worn marina outlet.

The Deseret News reports (http://bit.ly/1Gi7pw2) that the parents of 22-year-old Alec McQueen sued the company that operates Bullfrog Marina on Monday.

They say that the water became charged when another boater plugged into the wrong outlet last June.

The suit says McQueen was shocked when he jumped into the water while boating with friends and slipped under the surface.

The wrongful death suit filed against Delaware-based Aramark Corporation and the other boater alleges electricity entered the water after the company allowed the outlet to become dirty and worn.

The family is seeking unspecified damages.

A spokesman for Aramark declined to comment on the suit.
