WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) — Vanuatu beat the Federated States of Micronesia by the extraordinary score of 46-0 in their Olympic qualifying football match at the Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea on Tuesday.

Jean Kaltak scored 16 goals for Vanuatu which scored at the rate of a goal every two minutes.

Federated States of Micronesia, ranked 200 in the world by FIFA, had previously been beaten 38-0 by Fiji and 31-0 by Tahiti goals — conceding 115 goals in three pool matches.

The Pacific Games football tournament is for under-23 teams, so Vanuatu's score will not stand as a world record for full international matches.

In spite of its win, Vanuatu is not guaranteed a place in the semifinals as it could still finish behind Tahiti and Fiji in Pool A.
