(KSL News) Thousands of people came for the opening of the Downtown Farmers Market today.
It was wall-to-wall people and vendors at Pioneer Park for the opening of the 16th annual Downtown Farmers Market.
Fresh produce from local growers, plants, arts and crafts, music and perfect weather attracted several thousand people today.

The market draws 5,000 to 7,000 people each Saturday, but today there was probably more than that!
Celeste Richards, assistant manager of the Downtown Farmers Market, said, "Oh my goodness, the largest ever. We had the president of the Downtown Alliance was just here, and he made the comment that this is the biggest opening that he's seen."
The Downtown Farmers Market is one of the largest in the region. It runs every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Oct.18.
