PROVO, Utah (AP) — Rescue crews are hoisting out a Utah woman who appears to have fallen while hiking Mount Timpanogos.
Utah County Sheriff's Sgt. Spencer Cannon said the 48-year-old woman fell about 150 feet in a rock slide area near Emerald Lake around noon Thursday.
She suffered serious injuries and was unconscious for a period.
The fallen hiker is now responsive and is being attended to by a passerby believed to be a nurse.
Cannon said a helicopter is now preparing to hoist the woman out of the area to take her to a hospital.
