VIENNA (AP) — There's around 48 hours to go before the deadline for a nuclear agreement between Iran and world powers and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry is meeting in Vienna with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif. It's their third encounter since yesterday and other foreign ministers are expected to join. The deal would crimp Tehran's capacity to make nuclear weapons in exchange for sanctions relief.
ATHENS, Greece (AP) — Greece's international creditors are declining to go into overtime so a planned July 5 referendum on the latest bailout proposals will be taking place after the current deal expires on Tuesday. The scheduled vote is on creditor proposals for reforms in exchange for loans, without which the country's future in the eurozone look increasingly shaky.
MADRID (AP) — A heat wave is engulfing much of Spain and temperatures could climb beyond 100 degrees through tomorrow. Weather stations across Spain are warning people to take extra precautions as a mass of hot air originating in Africa moves through. Those include proper hydration and avoiding alcohol. The region's government has also banned firework rockets because of the wildfire danger.
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — This year is special for celebrants at gay pride events across the country in the wake of the Supreme Court decision legalizing same-sex marriage. San Francisco's iconic parade is expected to be the biggest in 45 years. The various events nationwide could draw millions of spectators and participants.
MALONE, N.Y. (AP) — It's another day of trapesing through the woods over difficult terrain for hundreds of searchers looking for an escaped killer in northern New York. Officials say David Sweat is probably having a much tougher time on the run since his fellow escape was shot to death by officers. Officers carrying rifles man checkpoints, examining vehicles, opening trunks and peering into windows.
