EDMOND, Okla. (AP) — The University of Central Oklahoma has fired head baseball coach Dax Leone and named pitching coach Todd George as interim head coach.

UCO athletic director Joe Muller announced the move Thursday. Muller said UCO decided "to go a different direction" with the team leadership.

Leone's teams went 141-102 during his five years as head coach. UCO was 19-26 this past season — the only losing season during Leone's tenure as the Bronchos won 30 or more games three times during Leone's five years.
