(KSL News) FBI Director Robert Mueller was in Salt Lake today to visit with the FBI employees of the Salt Lake City Division.
Mueller says the bureau's No. 1 priority in America is preventing terrorist attacks, and counter-terrorism operations take place even in states where there haven't been any threats.
Mueller also focused on crime in Utah and addressed federal involvement in polygamy issues. "To the extent that we can assist our state and local authorities in addressing individuals such as Warren Jeffs, or violations of either state, local, or federal laws, we will continue to do so," he said.
The FBI director praised Utah's FBI division for its work in stopping gang activity, and he called the eradication of the Tiny Oriental Posse a "notable success."
