ISLAMABAD (AP) — The Pakistan Football Federation has suspended its president Faisal Saleh Hayat for alleged incompetence and financial embezzlement, local media reported.
English daily Dawn says on Wednesday Hayat has been suspended as PFF President following Tuesday's extraordinary congress meeting while secretary Ahmad Yar Khan Lodhi was fired.
"Out of 26 (congress) members of the PFF, 18 were in attendance," newly appointed acting secretary Farasat Ali Shah told the newspaper.
The congress also elected Arshad Khan Lodhi as acting president PFF and the duo will conduct the PFF elections on June 30.
Hayat could still contest the new elections against Zahir Ali Shah, president of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Football Association.
