Marc Giauque reportingA drug bust on a central Utah freeway yields a big amount of methamphetamine.
Police say normally when they seize meth, they're talking a few ounces. A drug bust this week on I-70, though, was much bigger.
Utah Highway Patrol spokesman Sgt. Jeff Nigbur says it started with a traffic stop near Green River and ended with a search of the man's car. "We found a compartment that was actually in the floorboards of the particular truck and then found the 19 pounds of methamphetamine.
That's a half-million dollars worth of meth.
Nigbur says more meth is being trafficked from out of the country now because of a crackdown in the sales of ingredients used to make meth here in the United States.
