DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Ben DeLuzio drove in three runs and Florida State beat North Carolina 8-4 on Thursday night to remain unbeaten at the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament.
Chris Marconcini added two RBIs to help the fourth-seeded Seminoles (39-19) improve to 2-0 in pool play. They will earn a spot in the title game Sunday with a win over Louisville on Saturday.
Josh Delph's second double scored DeLuzio in the third and put Florida State up 5-0. DeLuzio, who reached base four times, had a two-run single during a three-run eighth.
Mike Compton (4-3) struck out six in 5 2-3 innings while allowing two runs for Florida State.
Trent Thornton (3-7) allowed four earned runs in 5 1/3 innings for the eighth-seeded Tar Heels (33-24), who have lost eight of 10. Brian Miller had a two-run single in the ninth.
