NEW YORK (AP) — Element continued his successful transition to the turf, rallying from last to win the $77,000 allowance feature Thursday at Belmont Park.
One of three winners on the card for trainer Todd Pletcher, Element rolled through the lane to beat Glowing Ember by 1 1/4 lengths. The 3-year-old struggled in his first two starts on dirt, beaten a combined 39 3/4 lengths. He is 2 for 2 since switching to grass.
Javier Castellano was aboard for the seven furlongs in 1:22 on the firm course.
Element paid $10, $4.60 and $4.30.
Glowing Ember returned $11.80 and $7.50, and Manhattan Mischief paid $5.60 to show.
