DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Sutton Whiting hit a two-run single in a four-run sixth inning to help Louisville rally past North Carolina 7-4 on Wednesday night in the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament.

Whiting drove in three runs for the top-seeded Cardinals (43-14), who fell behind 4-0 after the first three innings in their ACC tournament debut. Brendan McKay went 4-for-4 at the plate with a two-run homer.

Lincoln Henzman (5-1) earned the win, allowing three hits in six scoreless relief innings.

Tyler Ramirez hit a leadoff homer for the eighth-seeded Tar Heels (33-23), who beat Virginia Tech on Tuesday to reach pool play. Starter Benton Moss (7-1) took the loss, allowing five runs and five hits in 5 1/3 innings.

UNC went 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position.

Both teams play again Thursday in Pool A, with Louisville facing No. 5 seed Clemson and North Carolina playing fourth-seeded Florida State.
